Well, my comment may be a little bit out of topic, but... Cuz of this phrase:
"I'm talking about the REAL artist, not those who paint when they have a time"
I can not stay aside. It touches me so deep. You may not like what I say.
I had a friend, my ex-classmate, we used to study drawing and paiting together in middle and high school. She went further and studying ART in university now. Me not.
Once, we had an interesting conversation and my words "I can not live without drawing anything. Drawing is my oxygen", she commented "I've seen those who breath with drawing. They do it all the time day and night, but you are not".
So, there is the question: who is the REAL artist then those who draw all the time and making drawing their job or those who expresses themselves when they have to express anything? Should an expression flows day and night?
I think that people are different. They do different choices, they follow what they think is the best. That doesn't make them real or unreal. The only thing is important is what you have inside. Life is different, damn it.
What is for me. I always thought of myself as an ARTist. You may go and watch my gallery and say that I'm not at all, cuz my works are completely voids of any skills, taste and style. I don't care. I draw when I want to draw, I write when I want to write, I sing when I want to sign, I sew when I want to sew. Though, I'm very creative, but only in short moments I'm inspired of creating anything. Becuz, damn it, if I have no inspiration at all, I'll not make anything I would be satisfy with. I have hundreds of sketches I'm not satisfy with at all and thousands of times I've tried to squeeze anything from myself being not inspired. It has no result at all.
Being without any creation for me is like being in vacuum chamber, slowly dying breathless. I totally understand that now, when I started to work as damn SEO-optimizer and site-manager. Even when I want to draw anything I have no inspiration to do.
What is meant to be an ARTist? Being ARTist means to see, to feel and express what you see and feel no matter how skillful you are, skills become with practice, no matter how much time you have for this. It's your life. Your life is ART. Your life is color and lines which revives by your imagination and hands or foot or any over part of your body and instruments you use to create ART. That doesn't mean you have to be recognized ARTist, there are so many short-lived artists who makes money with their skills. And there are so many examples in history about ARTists who became recognized after their death. Being an ARTist is also mean to be poor and incomprehensible.
Any creation has its own right to live and be recognized. Any person is worthy some respect for what they do. You are not the one who can make any labels. No one can.
I do understand your words and I do like your ART, but I cannot ever accept your opinion about others. Sorry for that.
